Paddle Expedition

Back in 2005 I had the notion of setting up a canoeing paddle-thon to raise money for Potters For Peace, an organization for which my uncle Ron served as coordinator for many years. The expedition was to run the length of the Assabet and Concord rivers, and to the ocean on the Merrimac.

Since much of the Assabet is only navigable for a month or two each year, I hoped to try the expedition with a couple of friends (Phil and Brian), and then to seek other participants in succeeding years. If you look at the photos, you will see that this isn’t something that could have been done with a large number of boats.
